New construction Programs
SHUD has developed a community Redevelopment Master Plan to create a new neighborhood infrastructure. The master plan will incorporate architectural designs that will maintain the historic characteristics of the neighborhood. The main objectives are to reduce community deterioration; remove slum and blight; and construct new and/or rehabilitate affordable and moderately priced homes for homeownership.

Housing Counseling
Helping individuals and families to achieve the dream of homeownership is no small challenge. Homeownership education and counseling is a critical step in producing an informed consumer who is better equipped to sustain homeownership. Making the commitment to provide quality counseling and education services that strengthen long-term homeownership success takes a focused effort on the part of every stakeholder in the process.
Our HUD Certified Counselors will help you gain a clear understanding of the homebuying process to help ensure your successful journey into homeownership.
Credit Counseling and Financial Management
CREDIT ISSUES? You're our ideal client!
We offer 100% hands-on Credit Education, Credit Rebuilding, and Credit Management counseling services from an experienced and dedicated Certified Credit Score Consultant. We will assist and coach you to REBUILD YOUR CREDIT to achieve your financial goals.
We understand that "life Happens" so rest assured that you are in a judge free zone with SHUD. Our only goal is to help you establish the Credit and Financial confidence that you Desire.
ABOUT
Sand Hills Urban Development (SHUD) has been in existence since July 2005. SHUD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and locally designated Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). Our mission is promoting the common good and general welfare of the residents of the Sand Hills neighborhood with regard to housing development, education,
public safety, economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and community involvement.
Sand Hills is a historic community and the East portion of the neighborhood has been designated as a National Historic District that dates back to 1887. The residents are proud of the historic significance of Sand Hills and believe that historic preservation is vital and plays an important role in the overall stability of the community.
